This former gas station/auto repair Site was developed by The Arker Companies and remediated under the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program. The property, located in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx, was contaminated with high concentrations of gasoline related compounds in soil, groundwater and soil vapor. Remediation included excavation to the bedrock surface to remove all impacted soil followed by treatment of the groundwater with chemical oxidants. This effort achieved a Track 1 cleanup. Following remediation the property was transformed into an eight story mixed-use building with 16,200 square feet of retail and 100 affordable units of workforce housing.
